As we roll into October and wrap up the first month of the 2025 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles find themselves in familiar territory - undefeated at 4-0 and looking every bit like a team eager to defend its Super Bowl crown. But even a strong start doesn't mean the front office is standing pat. If past seasons are any indication, Howie Roseman and company won’t hesitate to tweak the roster for another deep playoff push.

One name lingering on the free-agent market that’s sure to raise some eyebrows in Philly - James Bradberry. Yes, the same Bradberry who earned All-Pro honors just a couple of seasons ago after locking down opposing receivers en route to Super Bowl 57.

It’s October now, and he’s still unsigned, not even on a practice squad. That’s a hard fall for a player whose resume isn't short on big moments or production.

From Shutdown Corner to Question Mark

Bradberry, now 32, is recovering from a serious leg injury after tearing both his Achilles and Soleus during training camp last summer - a brutal blow for any player, let alone a corner entering the back nine of his career. Before the injury, Bradberry was trying to reinvent himself, shifting to safety in hopes of extending his role with the Eagles following a rough 2023 season.

Let’s rewind for a second. When Bradberry arrived in 2022, he was exactly what Philly needed - a steady, physical presence opposite Darius Slay.

He gave up just 45.3% completions when targeted, allowed a stingy 51.6 passer rating, and intercepted three passes. He wasn’t just good - he was impactful, earning second-team All-Pro honors and playing a key role in the Eagles’ Super Bowl run.

But 2023 told a very different story.

Quarterbacks targeted Bradberry early and often, and the success rate was alarming. His completion percentage allowed ballooned to 59.4%, and his passer rating allowed shot up to 114.3.

Worst of all, he surrendered a career-high 11 receiving touchdowns. For a team with high expectations and Super Bowl ambitions, that kind of drop-off was hard to ignore.

With the secondary struggling as a whole, the Eagles made a decisive shift in the offseason. They added youth and speed through both free agency and the draft, signaling a changing of the guard - and leaving Bradberry without a clear role.

Where Things Stand Now

Following his release in March, things have been quiet on the Bradberry front. He reportedly visited the Buffalo Bills back in April, and there was some preliminary interest from the Miami Dolphins, but both teams ultimately went in different directions. The Bills welcomed back Tre’Davious White, and Miami locked in Rasul Douglas.

Now here we are in Week 5, the trade deadline is fast approaching, and Bradberry remains unsigned. That tells you where teams view him right now - a veteran with experience and a strong pedigree, yes, but also coming off a major injury and a concerning year of film before that.

To make matters more challenging, Bradberry isn’t exactly the only veteran cornerback without a home. Stephon Gilmore and Asante Samuel Jr. are also available, and teams in desperate need of help at corner - barring a major injury - would likely give those options a look first.

What’s Next?

Bradberry's future in the NFL is murky right now. Teams value experience, especially late in the year when injuries mount and playoff positioning tightens. But they also need confidence that a player can still move, still cover, still contribute.

Is there a path back for Bradberry? Sure.

All it takes is one phone call, one injury to open up a depth chart. But as it stands, that call hasn’t come, and time is working against him.

For a former All-Pro who was once a crucial part of one of the best defenses in football, the wait must be frustrating. Whether another opportunity awaits or not, one thing is clear: if James Bradberry does get back on the field, he’ll have everything to prove - all over again.

Saints Cheerleader Sues a Saints Player for Harassment by Flirting with Her While Already Married
Can you believe it? A charming, dynamic cheerleader from the New Orleans Saints is "exploding" and dragging a team player to court for "unforgivable" behaviors! Abigale Licciardi – the star of the Saints Cheer Krewe – has officially filed a lawsuit, and the drama behind it is stirring up NFL fans! Could this be the "biggest scandal" in Saints history? Read now to discover the "scorching" details! Abigale Licciardi, a professional cheerleader for the American football team New Orleans Saints in the NFL, is a prominent member of the Saints Cheer Krewe group. She is a former student at the University of Louisiana, where she participated in the local cheer squad and dance activities. Before that, Abigale was a dancer for NBA events and holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Tulane University. Abigale is active on social media, often sharing about games at Caesars Superdome, community activities, and her role as a brand ambassador for the Saints. As part of the Saints Cheer Krewe team consisting of about 47 members (combining male and female), Abigale participates in fan interactions, charity events like "Dream On 3," and performances at Saints games. She has an Instagram account (@abigalelicciardi) with posts about cheer life and a TikTok (@abigale_saints) where she shares videos about game days and dance routines. Before joining the Saints, she worked at a local event company, proving her versatility and passion. But the "nightmare" struck when Abigale got "entangled" with a Saints player! That's Mike Thornton, a backup defensive end who rarely plays for the Saints – a guy who's practically "anonymous" to fans, only playing sporadically on special teams and never a pillar. Thornton, 29 years old, has been married since 2021 to his wife, a community nurse, and they have two young children (one boy and one girl). Yet, according to Abigale's lawsuit, Thornton has been "flirting" with her recklessly, despite his happy family life! The "explosion" happened when Thornton started sending "sweet" messages to Abigale via Instagram, praising her smile and energy after performances. At first, Abigale thought it was just friendly praise from a teammate, but things quickly "crossed the line" into harassment! Thornton called her in the middle of the night – sometimes at 1-2 a.m. – to "share" about playing pressures, invite her for private dinners, and even send "suggestive" videos filmed at the gym! Abigale stated in the lawsuit: "He knows I only focus on my career and the team, but he won't stop. Those midnight calls make me anxious and stressed, severely affecting my performance!" According to insider sources, Thornton has been "stalking" Abigale since preseason, frequently "lingering" at community events she attends, and intentionally "creating situations" to approach her. Thornton's wife, upon learning, went "crazy" and threatened to break up, but the guy remains "blind"! The Saints are "shaken" by this scandal: The team management has temporarily isolated Thornton for investigation, while fans are divided – one side defends Abigale's "brave accusation," the other suspects it's a "staged script." The NFL league is also intervening, which could lead to heavy fines or removal from the roster! Abigale, with her "queen" image on TikTok and Instagram, is now becoming a "victim" of harassment – a thorny issue in the sports world! How will the court punish Thornton? And will the Saints "clean up" the team to protect their cheerleaders? Don't miss out – follow now for the next "drama" update! What do you think about this case, comment below!
