Was It a Catch? Saints Lose Touchdown Due to Controversial Brandin Cooks Reversal Against Bills – Coach Kellen Moore Angrily Criticizes Refs!

Kellen Moore, head coach of the New Orleans Saints, speaks with the media following an Organized Team Activities practice session at the Ochsner...

The Saints nearly took the lead in Buffalo on one of Week 4's wildest plays. A replay reversal changed the score and the momentum.

On third-and-13 from the Bills’ 17-yard line, quarterback Spencer Rattler fired the ball toward wide receiver Brandin Cooks in the end zone. Cooks twisted mid-air, tipping the ball with his left hand and trapping it against his left foot as he fell backward. For a moment, it appeared he had secured it with his knees and hands as he hit the turf.

The initial ruling on the field was a Saints touchdown. All touchdowns are automatically reviewed by the league, and there has to be indisputable evidence to overturn the score.

Both sidelines reacted like they’d won the play as the replay was shown on the video board at Highmark Stadium.

However, the play was reversed to an incomplete pass.

New Orleans settled for a 35-yard field goal from Blake Grupe instead of seven points. It proved to be a momentum swing. Grupe’s kickoff failed to reach the landing zone, giving Buffalo prime field position at the 40-yard line. Josh Allen needed just four plays to capitalize, including a 27-yard scramble on third-and-5. He finished the drive with a 28-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid, putting the Bills back in control.

After the game, Saints head coach Kellen Moore couldn't contain his anger, harshly criticizing the referees' decision. "This was a terrible and completely unfair call! The refs blatantly robbed us of a legitimate touchdown. We clearly controlled the ball, and this ruined our entire game. I can't accept this kind of unprofessionalism from the league!" Moore furiously stated in the post-game press conference, his voice trembling with rage. This reaction quickly spread on social media, with Saints fans supporting him and calling for the league to review replay rules to prevent similar mistakes in the future.
