Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Cooper DeJean is proving that his impact goes far beyond the football field. The young star has announced the creation of “Forever Wings Haven,” a $2 million sanctuary in Pennsylvania dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating both stray dogs and cats.
DeJean, known for his athleticism and versatility on defense, showed a different side of himself when speaking about the project. “Too many animals out there, dogs and cats are left abandoned, without food, without shelter, and without love,” he said. “They deserve safety, healing, and a real chance at a forever home.”
The sanctuary will feature state-of-the-art facilities: safe, climate-controlled housing for both dogs and cats, 24/7 veterinary care, large-scale spay-and-neuter programs, and enrichment spaces designed to help animals recover both physically and emotionally.
Staff and volunteers will also focus on socialization programs so rescued pets can successfully transition into loving families.
For DeJean, the meaning of victory goes beyond interceptions and defensive stops. While the roar of Lincoln Financial Field defines part of his career, he sees his legacy in the purrs and wagging tails of the animals his sanctuary saves. “The ultimate win isn’t just under stadium lights,” DeJean explained. “It’s in giving these animals dignity, safety, and love – the things they should have had all along.”
By committing his own resources to this cause, Cooper DeJean has shown that true leadership isn’t only about what you do on the field, but also the compassion you bring off it. With “Forever Wings Haven,” he is determined to give stray dogs and cats a second chance at life.
