Former Raiders CB Signs with Eagles, Feels the Respect in Philly He Never Had in Vegas

For him, the NFL journey has never been smooth—but it might finally be fair.

After a rocky stint with the Las Vegas Raiders filled with instability, depth chart reshuffling, and limited reps, the former fourth-round cornerback has officially signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. And by all accounts, he’s already feeling something different: respect.

“In Vegas, I was just another guy in the room. Here, from day one, it’s like—‘we see you.’ And that changes how you work. You fight harder when someone actually believes in you.”

He is a speedster out of Maryland, entered the league in 2023 with 4.3 wheels and man-to-man pedigree. But under Josh McDaniels’ disjointed regime and constant defensive turnover, Bennett struggled to carve out a role. He appeared in 14 games over two seasons, often buried behind veterans or shuffled out of position.

Philadelphia, though, offers a reset—and a real opportunity. With Adoree' Jackson, Kelee Ringo, and rising star Quinyon Mitchell forming the top of the CB rotation, Jakorian Bennett enters camp as a hungry depth piece fighting for a roster spot—and a second chance.

Sources inside camp say he’s already making an impression with tight coverage and special teams effort. And perhaps most importantly, he’s been embraced—not just evaluated.

“We bring in guys who are tough, smart, and hungry,” said DB coach D.K. McDonald. “Jakorian’s got something to prove—and we like that energy.”

The Eagles know the value of second chances. From players like Darius Slay finding new life, to role players earning their keep through grit, Philly’s culture rewards effort and accountability. For Bennett, it’s the first time in a while that he feels like more than a name on the depth chart.

And in a locker room built on trust, toughness, and team-first mindset—that might be all he needed.

[VIDEO] Giants' Daboll Faces $50K NFL Fine for Entering Medical Tent During Dart's Concussion Check
New York, NY – New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll is facing a $50,000 fine from the NFL after entering the medical tent during rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart’s concussion evaluation in Week 5’s loss to the Eagles — a move that has sparked league-wide debate over player safety protocols and coaching boundaries. Sideline footage showed Daboll stepping into the tent to question team doctors about Dart’s status. After the game, Daboll admitted: “I apologized to our team physician. I just wanted to know if he was good or not.” The incident occurred during the Giants’ 28–24 loss to the Eagles on October 5, 2025, after Dart took a helmet-to-helmet hit on a third-down scramble. Under NFL rules, medical tents are designated zones for independent concussion evaluation, and coach intrusion is strictly prohibited, carrying a minimum $50,000 fine for first-time offenders. The policy was updated in 2023 following the Tua Tagovailoa controversy, reinforcing the independence of medical staff during concussion checks. Past cases, such as Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel’s 2024 interference, resulted in a $25,000 penalty. Giants GM Joe Schoen issued a statement backing Daboll but called it “a learning moment.” Dart, cleared postgame, praised his coach’s “passion” while emphasizing the importance of respecting medical protocol. On social media, #DabollFine trended with over 150,000 mentions, splitting fans: some admired Daboll’s competitive fire, while others criticized it as unprofessional conduct. The NFL’s official decision is expected soon. If deemed an “egregious violation,” the penalty could increase or include a temporary suspension. With a 1–4 record and their rebuild hanging in the balance, this controversy adds another challenge as the Giants prepare to face the Bengals in Week 6.
