At least two injured, suspect dead in latest attack on federal facility
A tragic shooting unfolded Wednesday morning at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, Texas, leaving multiple people shot and at least one confirmed fatality, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the situation.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following the attack.
“Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities,” Noem posted on X, adding that the motive behind the violence remains unclear.
Gunfire Erupts Inside ICE Facility

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told CNN that three individuals were shot and taken to a nearby hospital. Their identities and conditions have not yet been released.
“Preliminary information is a possible sniper,” Lyons said. “We have three individuals that are down at this time. We’re not sure on their condition. They’ve been taken to the hospital.”
The Dallas facility is a mixed-use federal site, housing ICE employees, contractors, civilian staff, and immigrant detainees. Officials said security has been tightened as the investigation continues.
Pattern of Violence Against ICE Facilities

This latest attack marks at least the third shooting incident targeting ICE or Customs and Border Protection facilities in Texas this year.
-
July 4: A coordinated assault at the Prairieland Detention Center near Fort Worth left a police officer shot in the neck.
July 10: Just days later, a 27-year-old man opened fire at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, before being shot and killed by responding officers.
The string of incidents has raised alarm about escalating threats against federal immigration facilities in Texas.
Eagles WR’s Brother Caught in the Chaos
Amid the unfolding crisis, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Xavier Gipson revealed his growing fear for his older brother, who works inside the Dallas ICE facility.
“Right now, I honestly don’t know what to do,” Gipson said in a statement. “Every call goes unanswered and every minute feels like an hour. I still haven’t been able to reach my brother, and the silence is starting to scare me — I just need to know if he’s safe.”
According to sources close to the player, Gipson has not been able to contact his brother since the shooting began.
“He’s shaken and desperate for updates,” one team insider told reporters. The Eagles organization has reportedly reached out to Gipson, offering emotional support and resources as he awaits word from his family.
Ongoing Investigation
Federal and local authorities are working together to secure the scene, identify the victims, and establish a possible motive for the attack. Law enforcement officials have not released the name of the suspect or confirmed whether the shooting was targeted.
The story is still developing, with officials expected to provide additional updates later today.
