Bills Reunite With All-Pro Star After a Year Away From the NFL — The Perfect Replacement for Palmer
Buffalo, New York – In a surprising yet strategic move, the Buffalo Bills have officially re-signed veteran wide receiver Cole Beasley, just hours after announcing Joshua Palmer’s injury. This marks Beasley’s second reunion with the team after spending a year away from football due to personal and injury-related reasons. He’s seen as the perfect replacement for Palmer — who suffered an injury in the loss to the Falcons and has struggled with consistency all season.

The 36-year-old Beasley was an essential part of Buffalo’s offense from 2019 to 2021, recording over 1,800 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. A 2016 All-Pro with the Dallas Cowboys, Beasley is known for his precise route running, short-yardage reliability, and strong chemistry with quarterback Josh Allen. After leaving Buffalo for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022, he later returned to the Bills and had a brief stint with the New York Jets in 2023.
“We’re thrilled to have Cole back. He’s not only a talented player but also a leader in the locker room,” head coach Sean McDermott said. “Given our current situation with injuries and suspensions, Beasley provides the stability we need at the slot receiver position.”
Beasley signed a one-year, $2 million deal with performance-based incentives. The loss of Palmer, combined with other roster suspensions, has left a noticeable gap in Buffalo’s offensive production — averaging just 180 receiving yards per game. With his experience and familiarity with Allen’s playing style, Beasley is expected to fit seamlessly back into the lineup.
“Cole is as good a replacement as we could ask for,” said general manager Brandon Beane. “He knows how to find open space when Josh extends plays and can give our offense an immediate boost.”
Beasley is set to join practice on Friday before the team’s bye week. The Bills hope this reunion will reignite their offense and fuel a strong playoff push — maybe even rekindle their long-awaited Super Bowl dream.
Do you believe Cole Beasley’s return can spark Buffalo’s offense again?
