Young Eagles Fan Battling Brain Cancer Surprised with Emotional Super Bowl Gift
For young William, a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, the past year has been a battle far tougher than anything on the gridiron. Diagnosed with brain cancer that began in his eye, William has spent countless hours in hospitals undergoing treatment. Yet through it all, his love for the Eagles has remained a constant source of strength.
During one hospital stay, William met several visitors arranged by his mom’s friend, Julie, including an Eagles player who would later become a close friend. That meeting lit up his recovery journey, and not long after, he even received a video message of encouragement from veteran star Brandon Graham.

“Hey, what’s up William? I just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking about you and rooting for you and wishing you all the best. Stay strong and keep fighting,” Graham told him.
When Graham himself went down with an injury, William returned the gesture with a heartfelt video of his own: “Hey Brandon Graham, it’s William. I hope your arm gets better and stay strong and Go Birds.”
Even after such hardships, William never lost his smile. He recently completed his final round of radiation, a milestone he celebrated with friends who surprised him with an invitation to an Eagles game. It was there that his story took an unforgettable turn.

That’s when Cooper DeJean stepped in with a surprise of his own. Sitting down with William and his family, he revealed: “We got a little something for you. It’s been awesome getting to know you. We’re gonna send you guys to the Super Bowl.”
The room erupted with emotion. William’s family could hardly believe it, shouting: “Oh my gosh! Who’s going to the Super Bowl? You’re going to the Super Bowl!”
Overcome with joy, William added with a wide grin, “I’m so excited to go to the Super Bowl and that I get to bring my mom with me. But until then, Go Birds!”
For William, this journey isn’t just about football — it’s about resilience, friendship, and the power of a community rallying behind him. And for the Eagles, it’s another reminder that their biggest victories often happen far beyond the field.
