According to police reports, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. near West 38th Street and Seventh Avenue. The witness video captures the chaotic moment outside the Sei Less restaurant as a confrontation escalated seconds before gunshots rang out.
Kris Boyd was shot in the abdomen and collapsed in critical condition. Witnesses say he drifted in and out of consciousness before being taken to Bellevue Hospital. He remains in critical but improving condition.
Upon hearing the news, members of the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff rushed to the hospital late at night to provide support for their former teammate. This gesture reflects the strong bonds within the NFL community despite team affiliations.

The incident has deeply concerned the Eagles because the location is a popular spot for many NFL athletes. The fact that a former practice squad player was shot in the heart of New York City serves as a sobering warning.
The Eagles chairman shared a powerful message:
βNo one is immune to danger. Players must protect themselves because one wrong moment can change an entire life.β
Sei Less stated that the shooting took place outside after the restaurant had closed. The suspect fled the scene in a BMW X6 and police are still investigating.
For the Eagles, this incident is not merely tragic news but a serious reminder about off field safety, especially when players go out at night in crowded or unpredictable areas.
