Training Camp chaos hit its peak on Wednesday when the Cowboys were forced to end practice early following another fight — the third incident of the 2025 Training Camp. (Video Below)
This time, the incident involved a rookie offensive lineman, who got into a scuffle and was promptly kicked out of practice by head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Cowboys insiders say the rookie was competing for a roster spot amid injuries to starting left tackle Tyler Guyton and Rob Jones, both out with serious injuries. The team had hoped younger players could step up — but instead, tempers boiled over. The rookie reportedly threw a punch during the altercation, breaking team rules and drawing immediate consequences.
Coach Schottenheimer, already vocal about his zero-tolerance stance on fights, reacted by ejecting the rookie Ajani Cornelius on the spot:“You think this is how professionals act? Get the f*ck out of here! You’re embarrassing the star on your helmet. If you can’t control yourself, you don’t belong on this damn field.”
After that, Schottenheimer ordering the entire team — including some staff — to run sprints to close out practice.
Fans and analysts see the incident as more than a disciplinary moment. It might mark the start of a culture shift in Dallas. Under previous leadership, such behavior often went unchecked. But Schottenheimer is sending a different message: effort and discipline matter — no matter your place on the depth chart.
Now, Ajani Cornelius finds himself on thin ice, with many inside the building wondering whether he can bounce back from such a costly mistake at this critical point in camp.
