Steelers DL Leaves Game vs. Seahawks With Ankle Injury
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ defense, already dealing with multiple injuries, took another hit on Sunday as defensive lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk left the Week 2 clash against the Seattle Seahawks with an ankle injury. Loudermilk, who was starting in place of Derrick Harmon (out with a knee injury), was listed as questionable to return.
With Loudermilk sidelined, rookie Yahya Black stepped in. Black, a fifth-round pick, logged 24 snaps in Week 1 and made two quarterback pressures on just seven pass-rush snaps. This could be a chance for him to earn more playing time, but losing Loudermilk is a major blow to Pittsburgh’s already thin defensive depth.

Last week, Loudermilk played 31 snaps but failed to record a stat, grading out at 39.3 by Pro Football Focus. Despite that, the Steelers trusted him with another start against Seattle, only to see him leave early due to injury.
The Steelers are short-handed on the defensive line, with Esezi Otomewo inactive and Harmon still unavailable. Loudermilk has been known as a solid run defender, and while it’s a positive sign that he wasn’t immediately ruled out, his absence puts added strain on a defensive front that can’t afford to lose more bodies.
