"Shut the f**k up" : Darius Slay’s Wife Fires Back at Haters as Steelers CB Celebrates Win Over Jets

PITTSBURGH – Darius Slay’s debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers couldn’t have started better. The veteran cornerback helped the Black and Gold edge out the New York Jets 34-32 in Week 1, then took to Instagram to celebrate:
“Steelers win!! 1-0 yr 13 started off right,” Slay wrote after the game.
But while Slay celebrated, his wife Jennifer was busy defending him from critics online. Just three days earlier, she had stirred conversation by tweeting support for the Philadelphia Eagles — her husband’s former team — before their clash with Dallas. That sparked backlash from some Steelers fans questioning her loyalty.
Jennifer wasn’t having it. She reposted Slay’s win celebration and snapped back at haters with a blunt message:
“STFU when you speaking to me about mine (GOAT),” she wrote on social media, adding goat and laughing emojis.
She later clarified that her earlier Eagles post wasn’t meant to disrespect Pittsburgh, tweeting: “Go where you’re appreciated… We don’t play Philly this season so I can say this I think… no disrespect to current team, seriously but I have to say it… GO BIRDS! Will always love and support the crew!”
Slay, meanwhile, kept his focus on football. The 33-year-old signed a $10 million deal with the Steelers in March after being released by Philadelphia, who made room for younger players like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. Despite the split, Slay still attended the Eagles’ Super Bowl ring ceremony in July, posting photos and calling himself “Champ.”
“Whenever u speak on ME just don’t forget to call me Champ,” he reminded fans.
For now, Steelers Nation will remember him as a winner in his Pittsburgh debut. But with his wife already clapping back at critics, one thing is clear: the Slays are ready to fight just as hard off the field as on it.
