Philadelphia has lost a true icon. Vincent Termini Sr., the second-generation owner of Termini Brothers Bakery, a South Philadelphia landmark that has brought sweetness and tradition to the city for over 104 years, has passed away.
Vincent was known not only for his mastery in the bakery but also for his warmth, generosity, and deep love for his community — and for his Eagles. Friends and customers described him as a man whose kindness “filled every room he entered,” and whose passion for both baking and football embodied the spirit of Philadelphia itself.
“Vincent wasn’t just the heart of our bakery; he was the heartbeat of South Philly,” the Termini family shared on Facebook. “His quiet acts of kindness touched more lives than he ever realized, and he treated everyone who walked through our doors like family.”
A devoted husband, father, and business owner, Vincent took immense pride in upholding the legacy his parents, Giuseppe and Mariangela Termini, began in 1921 after immigrating from Sicily. Since then, Termini Brothers has grown from its flagship store on South 8th Street to several locations across the city — but its soul has always remained in South Philly.
Vincent was also a passionate Eagles fan, often seen in his signature green jacket on game days, cheering loudly no matter the outcome. “He used to say, ‘The smell of fresh cannoli and an Eagles win — that’s what heaven must feel like,’” one family friend recalled.
To generations of Philadelphians, Vincent Termini Sr. wasn’t just a baker. He was a symbol of tradition, heart, and loyalty — the very qualities that define the City of Brotherly Love.
