Obama Teams Up with Cowboys’ Dak Prescott to Battle Hunger in Texas
Dak Prescott Joins Barack Obama in the Fight Against Hunger, Donates $250,000 to Texas Families
Dallas, Texas – November 9, 2025
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is making headlines off the field after joining a national push to fight hunger — a cause recently highlighted by former U.S. President Barack Obama. Tens of millions of Americans, including one in five children, face food insecurity every day, and Prescott is stepping up to make a difference.
On X (formerly Twitter), Obama highlighted the issue:
"More than 47 million Americans — including one in five children — struggle to access nutritious food every day."

Shortly after, Prescott announced a $250,000 donation to Texas food banks and revealed plans to expand the Dak Prescott Foundation, with the goal of providing meals and ongoing support to families in need.
“I grew up understanding the value of a warm meal,” Prescott said. “Football gave me a platform, but I want to use it so that no one in Texas has to go to sleep hungry.”
Obama shared his gratitude publicly, writing:
"Dak isn’t just leading on the field — he’s leading by example off it. That’s what true teamwork looks like."
Prescott’s 2025 season has been strong, with the Cowboys holding a 6–2 record, 2,150 passing yards, 17 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. But it’s his work off the field — supporting communities in need — that may leave the most lasting impact.
According to Prescott’s team, the donation will support the North Texas Food Bank and Feeding America, helping provide over one million free meals to Texans ahead of the holiday season.
Through both leadership and generosity, Dak Prescott is showing that true greatness isn’t just about stats or victories — it’s about heart.
