Major Shake-Up Looming in Buffalo? Sean McDermott Hints at Changes for James Cook

The Buffalo Bills’ offensive struggles continued in last week’s 24-17 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, where they managed just one second-half touchdown despite a solid defensive showing. Much of the postgame criticism centered on running back James Cook’s limited usage, as he played just over half of Buffalo’s offensive snaps despite being one of their most effective weapons.

According to ESPN, Cook did not appear on any of the team’s 9 third-down plays or their lone fourth-down attempt — a shocking stat that longtime Buffalo broadcaster Howard Simon called “inexcusable.”

Head coach Sean McDermott addressed the controversy this week, confirming he’s already spoken with offensive coordinator Joe Brady about making adjustments moving forward.

“Joe and I have already talked about that to some extent today. It’s something to keep in mind going forward,” McDermott told reporters.

While Cook rushed 17 times for 87 yards in the loss, his involvement in the passing game has dipped significantly — averaging just 2 catches for 14.8 yards per game, the lowest since his rookie season.

McDermott also referenced the failed end-around call to Elijah Moore on third-and-one, saying that regardless of the play call, “we have to execute it at a higher level.”

With the Bills losing two straight and slipping into a tie with the Patriots atop the AFC East, insiders believe Buffalo could look to make a move before the NFL trade deadline.
Reporter Sal Maiorana of the Democrat & Chronicle speculated the team could target Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers, or possibly elevate Gabe Davis back into a larger role.

One thing is clear: this bye week isn’t about rest — it’s about recalibration. If changes are coming, they need to happen now.

Eagles Star A.J. Brown Fires Back at Vikings’ Justin Jefferson After Disrespectful Post Targeting Philly Fans
The buildup to Week 7’s clash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings has taken a fiery turn after Vikings star Justin Jefferson took a direct shot at Eagles fans — and then quickly deleted it. Late Friday night, Jefferson posted on X: “I’ve never seen such a delusional fan base.” Within minutes, the post exploded across social media, drawing tens of thousands of reactions and igniting outrage throughout Philadelphia. By Saturday morning, the post was gone — quietly deleted — but not before screenshots had spread like wildfire. Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, never one to back down when it comes to defending his city, issued a powerful response that instantly went viral among fans. “They can laugh, call our fans delusional — but on Sunday, they’ll drown in the nightmare we create. I play for the people who believe in Philadelphia, and I’ll make Minnesota feel every ounce of our pride.” The quote became a rallying cry throughout Eagles Nation, shared thousands of times within hours. For a fanbase built on passion and resilience, Brown’s words embodied what Philadelphia football stands for — pride, loyalty, and defiance. Jefferson has yet to comment publicly on the deletion, but the damage is already done. As kickoff looms, what began as casual trash talk has turned into a personal grudge match — one that now carries the emotional weight of an entire city traveling into hostile territory, ready to defend its pride inside
