Jalen Hurts Unhappy After Eagles’ Win, Explains Why in Postgame Press Conference

Despite a sluggish first half, the Eagles rallied to secure the win, and Hurts emphasized the grit, adjustments, and standard of play that defined the performance.

“We executed and I think we played a good brand of football,” Hurts said when asked about the passing attack that sparked the second-half surge. While some reporters pressed him on whether the offense was too conservative early on, Hurts responded sharply: “What’s conservative?”

Hurts acknowledged the team’s struggles in the opening half but stressed the collective determination to respond after the break. “They opened up in the second half,” he said when asked about WR A.J. Brown’s involvement. On the broader adjustments, Hurts elaborated:

“It was a matter of just figuring it out. We stayed together as a team. We did not quit. Nobody gave up in competitive sports. That’s what it’s about, and I’m very proud of that… Win, lose, or draw, we were going to look back and be very critical of ourselves and that’s who we would be. But when you win and you feel like you got a lot to learn, you come on with the come on.”

The Eagles offense began to flow at a faster tempo in the second half, something Hurts believes was key. “I think in the second half when pressure was as high as it was, we kind of just let it loose and went out there and played, and that’s the brand of football we played for a long time,” he explained.

He also credited the entire offensive staff, including new coordinator Kevin Patullo: “It was a complete team effort and I had the reflection of whatever it takes. If it meant getting out of character, given the situation and just trying to do it, the only thing we ever cared about out there is to go out there and find a way to win the game.”

On leadership and execution, Hurts underscored the team’s identity: “There isn’t another group of guys that I want to play with when it comes to that. There’s never a doubt, there’s never a quit and there’s always that sense of fight to try and figure it out and so, we’ve been talking about taking pride in winning. We take pride in this game, as ugly as it was and as beautiful as it ended. That’s the agony and the ecstasy of the game of football and we learn from it all.”

Hurts saved special praise for his top targets A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, as well as the offensive line and defense stepping up in critical moments. “[A.J. Brown], he made some big-time plays. And [DeVonta Smith], he made some big-time catches. [T] Fred Johnson showed up and showed out when his number was called on. [DT Jordan Davis] on the other side. I mean, it is a beautiful game and I think I just take a lot of pride in finding ways to win because that’s why you play the game.”

Ultimately, Hurts framed the game as both a victory and a lesson: “There’s room for us to grow and aggressively attack those things. There’s nothing casual about what’s going to happen moving forward. There is a very assertive effort being made to play to the standard more often. Ultimately, it’s about winning.”

With the Eagles now at 3-0, Hurts’ words set the tone for a team that continues to grind out wins while chasing perfection.

Josh Allen Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week After Insane Week 14 Comeback vs Bengals
For the THIRD time in 2025 and the 18th time in his legendary career, Josh Allen has been crowned AFC Offensive Player of the Week – putting him just behind Tom Brady for the most all-time. What he did to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday wasn’t football… it was a superhero movie. Stats that don’t even sound real: 22/28 (78.6%) – 251 passing yards – 3 passing TDs 9 carries – 78 rushing yards – 1 rushing TD (including a 40-yard sprint for the ages) → 4 total TDs, zero turnovers, and a perfect passer rating in the 4th quarter. The Moments That Broke the Internet Down 11 in the 2nd quarter, 4th-and-4 from the 11-yard line Josh Allen escapes pressure, rolls left, and throws an absolute DIME across his body to Khalil Shakir backing into the end zone. Then hits Dawson Knox for the 2-point conversion. Sean McDermott’s one-word reaction on Monday? “Audacity.” Bengals just took a two-possession lead in the 4th Allen needs only 1:11 to march 75 yards and scores himself on a 40-yard touchdown run – the longest rushing TD by a Bill in regular-season history. Game on the line, 3rd-and-15 with 1:54 left Instead of punting, Josh scrambles for the first down, takes a knee twice, and ends the game. Ballgame. History Made (Again) 11th career game with 3+ passing TDs + 1+ rushing TD → most in NFL history (only player with 10+) First player ever with 20+ pass TDs & 10+ rush TDs in three separate seasons First player ever with multiple games of 250+ pass yds, 75+ rush yds, 3+ pass TDs, 1+ rush TD 50th career game with at least 1 passing + 1 rushing TD → extends his own NFL record Josh Allen didn’t just beat the Bengals – he reminded the entire league why he’s the 2025 MVP front-runner. Bills Mafia, is this the best single-game performance of Josh’s career? Sound off in the comments!
