Insiders Rumor: Dallas Cowboys Trading Micah Parsons to NFC East Contender

Micah Parsons is arguably the best non-quarterback in football right now, and the Dallas Cowboys have the luxury of having him on their roster. That said, the Cowboys and Parsons have yet to figure out a long-term deal.

With Parsons set to be a free agent in 2026, right now, the Cowboys have the pressure of keeping him around. While Parsons isn’t holding out, the two sides don’t seem in a rush to get a deal done.

Daniel Alameda believes that we could see Parsons being traded to the Washington Commanders.

Alameda writes, “Parsons has repeatedly praised Quinn’s impact, describing him as “my guy,” “like a big uncle,” and a coach who develops both the player and the person. In February 2024, Parsons joked, “He might take me with him” when Quinn left for Washington—later saying he hoped Commanders fans would “take care of my guy”.

With salary cap and draft implications, the Cowboys may rethink his long-term value, especially if he postpones signing a mega-deal.”

While the Commanders would love to have Parsons on their team, let’s break down if this trade makes sense for both sides and if it would be reasonable for the Cowboys.

Dallas Cowboys Trading Micah Parsons to the Washington Commanders

While the Commanders would love to have Parsons on their team, it may not be possible. Let’s not forget that both the Commanders and the Cowboys are in the NFC East.

It’s not often that we see trades between two teams in the same division. It’s even less often that we see a trade of this magnitude go down between two division rivals.

This would be one of the biggest trades in the NFL over the last 10 years if it were to go down. Parsons is in the prime of his career, and he’s one of the best players in football. It’s tough to even predict a trade package because we’ve never seen a comparable trade go down.

To analyze whether the Cowboys should trade away Parsons, the answer is simply no. You don’t trade away a player who’s this good at only 26 years old.

That’s how you tank a franchise and ruin your reputation with your fanbase. Parsons is going to be expensive, but there’s a good reason why.

Does Micah Parsons Fit in Washington?

Let’s just say that the Commanders would be able to land Parsons for three first-round picks; they should make that move. You can see where Alameda is coming from as he does a great job breaking down the fit above.

The Commanders need a pass rusher badly, and this would be better than anything they could imagine. Adding Parsons to the Commanders defensive line would make this team lethal.

Again, it’s highly unlikely that the Commanders are going to be able to land Parsons. If they were able to do so, they should easily be a top-five team in terms of Super Bowl odds for next season.

Right now, the Lions have the 5th-best odds at +1000 (per FanDuel), and the Commanders should easily be able to take their place. That would put them right up there with the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

While Commanders’ fans would love to see this prediction come true, it’s extremely unlikely, and it’s hard to see it happening. Again, this is simply a prediction on the Dallas Cowboys Trading Micah Parsons to the Washington Commanders, not a report.

Cowboys WR Admits Heartbreaking Truth About “Meaningless” Breakout After Bitter Week 14 Loss to Lions
Ryan Flournoy just dropped 115 yards and a 42-yard touchdown in place of an injured CeeDee Lamb… and then told everyone it means absolutely NOTHING. The Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver, who has now posted back-to-back impressive games, was brutally honest after the crushing Week 14 defeat to the Detroit Lions: “Not sweet, it’s bitter,” Flournoy said. “I did all that to win. None of them stats really impressed me.” From a forgotten depth piece to sudden WR3 contender in just two weeks: 34 yards vs Chiefs on Thanksgiving 115 yards + 1 TD vs Lions in Week 14 Dak Prescott trusted him on multiple third-down conversions and hit him for the explosive score, yet Flournoy refuses to celebrate. “I just want to go out there, play with these guys, have fun, and WIN,” he added. “Losing makes everything pointless.” While fans and analysts are calling it his official “coming-out party,” Flournoy basically threw his own breakout performance in the trash because the scoreboard didn’t end in Dallas’ favor. This raw “win-or-it’s-worthless” mentality has Cowboys Nation buzzing: Is Flournoy putting too much pressure on himself as a rookie? Or is this exactly the fire Dallas desperately needs in a season derailed by injuries? One thing is crystal clear: Ryan Flournoy doesn’t care about your fantasy points or highlight reels. He only cares about one thing, VICTORY. Next week, all eyes will be on “Flo” again. Can he finally turn that bitterness into something sweet? Drop your thoughts below: Is Flournoy’s mindset genius… or dangerous?
