Former Panthers player arrested in York County days before signing with new team
ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - A former Panthers defensive end was arrested last week, just days before signing with a new team.
Records showed 32-year-old Jadeveon Clowney was charged with trespassing and failure to identify. He was apprehended on Friday, Sept. 12, two days before signing with the Dallas Cowboys.

What happened
The encounter reportedly occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, at the Dunbar Place Apartments, located off Constitution Boulevard in Rock Hill.
According to the incident report, an officer had been assigned to prevent nonresidents from parking in the apartment complex during a high school football game across the street.
At some point, Clowney attempted to park in the lot, allegedly telling officers he was “probably going to the football game.” When authorities informed him that he couldn’t park there, Clowney reportedly replied that it didn’t matter because his aunt lived in the complex.
Reports stated that the officer informed Clowney he could not park there because he did not live at the residence, and that his car would be towed if he did. Clowney allegedly refused to comply and questioned the officers’ authority to tow his vehicle.
“Clowney became highly argumentative, boisterous, and talked loudly over the reporting officer, repeatedly preventing the reporting officer from explaining that he was going to be issued a trespass warning for the complex,” a police report read.
Officers asked Clowney for identification and informed him that he would be issued a trespassing warning, but he refused. One officer then reportedly warned that Clowney would be arrested for failure to identify if he continued to withhold his ID.
“Clowney never attempted to drive away, although stating at least twice that he was trying to leave, but instead, he continued to argue, talk over the reporting officer, and display a defiant attitude,” the police report continued.
