Eagles Star DT Steps Up: Massive $500K Donation for Underprivileged Kids in Philadelphia and Home State Georgia

Philadelphia has always taken pride in its people — and this week, one Eagles player reminded everyone why the city’s heart beats green.

Through his foundation, a young defensive star is helping shine a light on some of the most overlooked families in the region: those led by grandparents raising children. In partnership with local nonprofit Connectedly and support from ACME, he launched a summer program designed to fight food insecurity and support mental health, mentorship, and youth education.

The surprise? A jaw-dropping $500,000 donation to fund programs across Philadelphia and his home state of Georgia — including youth mentorship, school supply drives, and fresh food distribution.

Already a rising force on the field, Jalen Carter’s impact off the field is just as powerful. On a recent afternoon at Hope Partnership for Education, surrounded by grateful grandparents and children in green jerseys, he made his mission clear.

“This is what it means to wear Midnight Green,” Carter said. “It’s not just about playing hard — it’s about giving back harder. That’s the culture here. That’s the bloodline of Eagles football.”

For Carter, the inspiration came from home. His mother ran a daycare when he was a kid — and watching her care for children taught him the meaning of service.

The families he’s helped say they finally feel seen, heard, and hopeful. And in a city that thrives on grit and loyalty, Carter’s legacy is growing — not just as a player, but as a symbol of what it means to truly represent Philadelphia.
