Prescott is currently in one of the most efficient stretches of his career. But at 32, the Cowboys’ longest-tenured player is starting to think about the long game — literally. Speaking to Cowboys insider Jon Machota, Prescott admitted that his view on retirement has evolved over the years. “Forties would be a good number,” Prescott said. “I’ve been through some injuries, played really physical in college… so if I can get to 40 playing at the standard I expect from myself, yeah, that’d be awesome.” Originally, Prescott didn’t expect to play deep into his late thirties. But the way he feels now — both physically and mentally — has changed that outlook. “It’s definitely changed,” he continued. “I can see it more realistically now. The fun, the peace this game still gives me, even 10 years in — that’s something you can’t replace.
