Eagles Reach Verbal Agreement to Sign 2x All-Pro Cornerback

Philadelphia, PA – The Eagles continue to make aggressive roster moves as they prepare for the regular season. According to league sources, the front office has reached a verbal agreement with a veteran defensive back, a two-time All-Pro corner who could immediately bolster the secondary. The deal, however, remains conditional pending a medical evaluation due to injury issues that limited him last season.

The signing would represent another calculated move by general manager Howie Roseman, who has consistently prioritized depth and leadership across the roster. The Eagles’ defense, already stacked with young playmakers, has long thrived on mixing experienced veterans with emerging talent. Adding another battle-tested cornerback could help stabilize the unit heading into what is expected to be a championship-or-bust season.

Still, the agreement comes with caution. The veteran corner missed time in 2023 with nagging injuries, and team doctors want assurances before putting pen to paper. If he fails the medical evaluation, the agreement will be voided. If he passes, Philadelphia would instantly gain one of the league’s most accomplished cover men.

The locker room reaction has been one of excitement, with several players privately noting how much his experience could mean to a young group of defensive backs. Fans have also taken to social media, expressing optimism that the addition could solidify one of the final pieces in the Eagles’ Super Bowl puzzle.

That player is Stephon Gilmore, the 2019 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, five-time Pro Bowler, and two-time All-Pro cornerback. Gilmore, now 34, brings not only accolades but also postseason pedigree, having won a Super Bowl with New England and played in multiple deep playoff runs.

In a statement released through his agent, Gilmore expressed his excitement at the possibility of returning to the NFC East in midnight green: “If everything clears and the deal goes through, I’m coming to Philadelphia with one goal — to help bring another Super Bowl to this city. The Eagles have the talent, the fans, and the fire. I’m ready to add my experience to that fight and do whatever it takes to finish the job.”

For the Eagles, this is a high-upside, low-risk gamble: if Gilmore passes the physical, they gain a proven shutdown corner to pair with Darius Slay and the rising Quinyon Mitchell. If not, they lose nothing more than time spent in negotiations. Either way, it signals Philadelphia’s relentless pursuit of roster perfection.

As September looms, the Eagles are making it clear: no stone will be left unturned in their quest for another Lombardi Trophy.

[VIDEO] Bills' Star Receiver Dalton Kincaid Dealing With Oblique Injury, Status Uncertain for Falcons Matchup “We’ll get a look at him before making a determination.”
Bills' Leading Receiver Dealing With Oblique Injury The Buffalo Bills may be without one of their top offensive players for Monday night’s Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receiver Curtis Samuel are both listed as questionable for Buffalo’s “Monday Night Football” matchup, and while Samuel’s potential absence isn’t quite concerning, Kincaid’s inclusion on the injury report is. Through the first five games, Kincaid is Buffalo’s leading receiver. He’s been quarterback Josh Allen’s favorite target and go-to option in the red zone, which made Saturday’s injury update an unfortunate one. After practicing for the last two days in a red non-contact jersey, Kincaid’s status is still uncertain for the Falcons game. “Dalton Kincaid (oblique) still in a red non-contact jersey,” WGR 550's Sal Capaccio reported on Saturday. “Sean McDermott said they’ll get a look at him (and Curtis Samuel) at practice today before making a determination on their game status for Monday night.”   Kincaid is in the midst of a breakout season. He’s logged 20 catches on 24 targets for 287 yards and three touchdowns — both team highs. Among all tight ends with 10 or more receptions, Kincaid ranks second in receiving yards, third in touchdowns, third in yards per reception (14.4), 10th in receptions, and 16th in targets. Kincaid is just 24 catches and 161 yards from matching his season totals last season through eight fewer games. He’s already surpassed the two touchdowns he had in 2024. If Kincaid does, indeed, miss Week 6, the Bills will likely rely on receivers Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman to shoulder the load in the passing game. Shakir and Coleman are tied for the most targets on the team (29), and they’re separated by just nine receiving yards—Shakir 235, Coleman 226—and both have two touchdowns. Dawson Knox and Jackson Hawes will likely take turns filling the tight end spot. Knox has ix catches on 10 targets for 54 yards, while Hawes has our catches on four targets for 54 yards and a touchdown. Bills Mafia, what do you think — should Kincaid rest to recover fully, or suit up to help the team secure another win?
