Eagles Nation Mourns Iconic Radio DJ, Beloved Voice and Lifelong Eagles Fan Passes Away at 70

Philadelphia is mourning the loss of one of its most recognizable and beloved voices. Legendary radio DJ Pierre Robert, who defined the city’s rock scene for more than four decades and was a passionate lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, has died at the age of 70.

According to Beasley Media Group, Robert was found deceased at his home on Wednesday. Authorities confirmed that no foul play is suspected. His passing leaves an enormous void in the city’s music, radio, and sports communities — a voice that had become part of Philadelphia’s daily rhythm since 1981.

Pierre joined WMMR in the early ’80s after a brief stint in San Francisco, quickly becoming a local icon known for his warmth, humor, and deep love of classic rock. His trademark greeting, “Greetings Citizens!”, became a staple on air, while his genuine kindness made him a friend to thousands of listeners across generations.

Beyond music, Pierre was known for his unshakable loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles. Friends often recalled how he wore team gear to the studio after big wins, and how he turned his on-air segments into impromptu celebrations of Eagles’ triumphs. During the team’s 2018 Super Bowl run, Pierre’s emotional broadcasts captured the spirit of the city — proud, loud, and united.

Tributes poured in across Philadelphia on Wednesday night. Landmarks like Xfinity Live, the Fillmore, and Lincoln Financial Field lit up in his memory. Fellow hosts Preston Elliot and Steve Morrison described Robert as “an open book of passion — for music, people, and the Eagles.”

“Pierre’s impact is immeasurable,” Preston said. “He loved music, but he also loved this city — its people, its fans, and its team. No one lived the Eagles spirit louder than he did.”

Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley shared a heartfelt statement:

“Pierre’s love for music and his deep bond with listeners made him one of radio’s most enduring voices. He will be missed deeply by everyone at WMMR and across Philadelphia.”

A fixture of the city’s airwaves, Pierre’s generosity extended far beyond the studio — from hosting AIDS Walks to supporting local charities like MANNA’s Pie in the Sky. His star on the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame now shines as a lasting tribute to his life, passion, and unwavering devotion — to rock, to his city, and to his Eagles.

Cowboys WR Admits Heartbreaking Truth About “Meaningless” Breakout After Bitter Week 14 Loss to Lions
Ryan Flournoy just dropped 115 yards and a 42-yard touchdown in place of an injured CeeDee Lamb… and then told everyone it means absolutely NOTHING. The Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver, who has now posted back-to-back impressive games, was brutally honest after the crushing Week 14 defeat to the Detroit Lions: “Not sweet, it’s bitter,” Flournoy said. “I did all that to win. None of them stats really impressed me.” From a forgotten depth piece to sudden WR3 contender in just two weeks: 34 yards vs Chiefs on Thanksgiving 115 yards + 1 TD vs Lions in Week 14 Dak Prescott trusted him on multiple third-down conversions and hit him for the explosive score, yet Flournoy refuses to celebrate. “I just want to go out there, play with these guys, have fun, and WIN,” he added. “Losing makes everything pointless.” While fans and analysts are calling it his official “coming-out party,” Flournoy basically threw his own breakout performance in the trash because the scoreboard didn’t end in Dallas’ favor. This raw “win-or-it’s-worthless” mentality has Cowboys Nation buzzing: Is Flournoy putting too much pressure on himself as a rookie? Or is this exactly the fire Dallas desperately needs in a season derailed by injuries? One thing is crystal clear: Ryan Flournoy doesn’t care about your fantasy points or highlight reels. He only cares about one thing, VICTORY. Next week, all eyes will be on “Flo” again. Can he finally turn that bitterness into something sweet? Drop your thoughts below: Is Flournoy’s mindset genius… or dangerous?
