Eagles Get Positive Injury Updates on Landon Dickerson and Andrew Mukuba Ahead of Week 1
Philadelphia, PA – September 1, 2025
The Eagles are closing in on their Week 1 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys, and the health report is finally trending in the right direction. After weeks of uncertainty, two key players returned to the field, giving Philadelphia a boost just days before the season opener.
Landon Dickerson was carted off with a knee injury on August 10, sparking fears that his year was over before it began. Instead, the starting left guard has battled back to practice and is now on track to play Week 1. Even at less than 100 percent, his presence is huge.

Andrew Mukuba also returned to action for the first time since injuring his hamstring on August 19. The rookie safety may not be a full participant yet, but his comeback puts him back in contention to see early snaps. If healthy, Mukuba could push Sydney Brown for the starting job.
The Eagles’ secondary will be worth watching closely. Even if Mukuba doesn’t start against Dallas, coaches believe it’s only a matter of time before he overtakes Brown on the depth chart. His speed and versatility make him one of the most intriguing rookies on the roster.
Meanwhile, rookie quarterback Tanner McKee remains a question mark. Limited in practice, he’s not expected to be ready for Week 1. That means Sam Howell will step in as QB2 behind Jalen Hurts, giving Philadelphia a proven backup in case disaster strikes on Thursday night.
Depth questions aside, the bigger picture is brighter than expected. Getting Dickerson and Mukuba back ahead of the opener gives the Eagles a healthier roster and a better chance to make a statement against their NFC East rivals right out of the gate.
