Did Kenny Pickett leave the Eagles because of locker room conflict?

📰 Kenny Pickett Wasn’t Happy With the Eagles — So He Left

When the Philadelphia Eagles traded for Kenny Pickett, many believed it was a smart move — adding a former first-round QB as a solid backup behind Jalen Hurts. But less than a year later, Pickett is gone. Traded. Quietly. And now we know why.

🙅 Pickett Didn’t Like What He Saw in Philly

According to multiple reports, Kenny Pickett was frustrated with his role in Philadelphia. After being benched in Pittsburgh and landing in Philly via trade, he hoped for a fresh start — or at least a fair competition.

Instead, he found himself locked in behind Jalen Hurts with no shot at playing, even in preseason scenarios. Worse yet, Tanner McKee, a sixth-rounder, was getting more attention and reps as the team’s future QB2.

Pickett wasn’t just a backup — he was invisible.

Sources close to the team say Pickett approached Eagles management requesting a trade once it was clear he had no path to playing time. Philadelphia respected his wishes and sent him to the Cleveland Browns, where he’ll compete for backup — or potentially starter — reps behind Deshaun Watson.

In return, the Eagles got Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

🧠 No Bad Blood, Just Business

Both sides seem content. The Eagles save cap space and double down on McKee. Pickett gets a new shot elsewhere.

But it’s clear:

Kenny Pickett didn’t leave Philly because he wasn’t good enough.
He left because he wasn’t part of the plan.

Buffalo Bills Just Signed a Top-Remaining Free Agent CB to Save Their Secondary
The Buffalo Bills secondary has been pure chaos lately: Darius Slay refused to report, Ja’Marcus Ingram got poached by the Texans, and suddenly the depth chart looked thinner than ever. But GM Brandon Beane just pulled off a sneaky-smart move that flew completely under the radar… Late Tuesday afternoon, the Bills quietly signed one of the highest-rated cornerbacks still left on the open market to the practice squad — a 25-year-old former seventh-round pick with elite 4.45 speed and perfect slot-corner size (5’11”, 190 lbs). So… who is this mystery reinforcement? (Keep scrolling, we’ll reveal the name in a second) His 2025 journey has been a wild rollercoaster: Cut for good by the Las Vegas Raiders in April after bouncing on/off their practice squad all of 2024 Signed by Carolina in the summer → waived/injured → landed on IR Joined Baltimore in early August → survived most of camp but got released on final cutdown day (Aug 26) And now he’s officially belongs to the Buffalo Bills. Drumroll… the newest member of Bills Mafia is M.J. Devonshire — a name that, believe it or not, was still ranked inside the Top 30 available cornerback free agents this fall according to PFF, Bleacher Report, and multiple NFL insiders. Right now Buffalo’s active 53-man roster only has THREE true outside cornerbacks: Christian Benford Tre’Davious White Rookie Maxwell Hairston With a brutal late-season schedule and injuries always one snap away, bringing in a young, fast, draft-pedigree CB who can play both outside and in the slot is a no-brainer depth move. Is M.J. Devonshire the hidden gem who finally stabilizes the Bills’ secondary… or just another practice-squad body? One thing’s for sure: Bills Mafia just got a little faster.
