The phrase “same old Dak” trended across social media just hours after the interview aired. Fans, fed up with repeated playoff failures, vented frustration online. "Keep the promises to yourself, Dak. Just win," one fan commented on X, receiving over 12,000 likes. Others pointed out this is the third straight offseason where Prescott has vowed to “lead the team further.”

NFL analysts aren't holding back either. ESPN's Marcus Spears stated bluntly: “It’s year nine. Leadership is action, not repetition.” The sentiment was echoed by other former players, who questioned if the Cowboys’ locker room still rallies behind Prescott’s voice or has grown numb to it.
