Training Camp 2025 is bringing more challenges than expected for the Dallas Cowboys’ offensive line. Just as the pads went on and players began settling into rhythm, one of the team’s most promising linemen suffered a setback that could affect early-season plans.
The injury, initially feared to be a torn ACL, sent concern across the facility. But after further testing, the team confirmed the ligament was intact, and the injury was downgraded to a bone fracture. That’s better news than expected, but still enough to sideline him for one to two months—throwing a wrench into offensive line rotations.
Coaches had praised the player throughout the offseason for his transformation after a rocky rookie year. From a new diet to offseason workouts with veteran mentors, he showed every sign of a leap forward. His commitment didn’t go unnoticed—arriving early, staying late, and reshaping his body and mindset.
As the team begins to look at backup options, several names will be in the mix to compete for his role. Shifting veterans around the line could be an option too. But for now, the team is hoping the injury won't extend beyond the first few weeks of the season.
The player in question? Tyler Guyton, the Cowboys’ first-round pick in 2024, who was working to solidify his starting role at left tackle. After a strong offseason and early camp performance, his absence will be felt deeply.
Cowboys fans remain hopeful that Guyton’s progress won’t be lost and that his return will come sooner rather than later. In his own words: "My body feels great… I feel a big difference from last year to this year in terms of stamina and strength, so big improvement."
