Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb Holds Rookie WR Accountable After Lazy Reps at Day 3 of Training Camp

Day 3 of Cowboys Training Camp wasn’t just about routes and reps—it was a reality check. Rookie wide receiver, a promising undrafted addition, got a wake-up call from none other than team leader CeeDee Lamb.

Sources close to the team say Lamb pulled rookie WR aside after a sloppy rep and spoke to him one-on-one, making it clear: talent gets you here, but effort keeps you here.

“You’re a rookie—so you’ve gotta work twice as hard,” Lamb said afterward. This ain’t college anymore. No one’s giving you anything here.”

Contract talks with Micah Parsons still on hold as Cowboys star shows at end of OTAs

Coaches didn’t comment on the exchange, but teammates described it as firm, not harsh. Lamb, now entering his fifth season, is taking on more of a vocal leadership role—and part of that means setting the tone for the WR room.

“Being a wideout in Dallas means you carry the star on your chest with pride,” Lamb continued. “And pride means work—before, during, and after every practice.”

Kelly reportedly responded positively, staying late after the session to run extra routes and review film. Lamb stayed with him.

While rookie mistakes are expected, the Cowboys aren’t hiding their expectations this season. With Super Bowl dreams once again looming, the margin for error is razor-thin. And Lamb is making sure everyone—rookie or vet—understands what’s required.

“This isn’t college anymore,” Lamb said. “You want a spot? Earn it. You want to last? Be obsessed with the grind.”

For Josh Kelly, the message is clear. You’re not just learning the playbook—you’re learning what it takes to be a Cowboy.

Eagles Release Injury Report, Two Key Starters Ruled Out Ahead of Clash with New York Giants
October 10, 2025 – Philadelphia, PA Just hours before their Week 6 matchup against the New York Giants, the Philadelphia Eagles have officially released their final injury report — and it’s not the news fans were hoping for. Starting offensive guard Landon Dickerson and tight end Grant Calcaterra have both been ruled out for tonight’s game at MetLife Stadium. Dickerson continues to deal with an ankle injury that has sidelined him for the past two weeks, while Calcaterra remains out due to an oblique issue. Neither participated in practice this week. Meanwhile, defensive tackle Jalen Carter (heel) and linebacker Nakobe Dean (knee) are listed as questionable, though both have shown progress. Carter logged limited reps in practice, while Dean — returning from last season’s injury-plagued campaign — was a full participant. On the positive side, defensive linemen Byron Young and Jihaad Campbell were both full participants and are expected to play. Campbell, one of this season’s breakout rookies, has recorded 33 tackles, 1 interception, and 2 passes defended through five games. The absences of Dickerson and Calcaterra, however, could have a major impact on the offense, particularly in pass protection and red-zone schemes. Head coach Nick Sirianni downplayed the setback, saying the team is prepared to “adjust and compete with whoever’s ready to go.” But with a tough divisional battle ahead, depth will be tested as the Eagles look to bounce back after last week’s controversial loss.
