Bills Place DT on IR to Undergo PTSD Treatment After Heartbreaking Loss of Girlfriend

Buffalo New York. November 15 2025.

The Buffalo Bills have officially placed rookie defensive tackle T. J. Sanders on Injured Reserve (IR) but the reason has nothing to do with a physical setback. According to team insiders Sanders will step away from football to continue treatment for post traumatic stress disorder following the tragic passing of his girlfriend earlier this October.

Medical staff for the Bills confirmed that Sanders is currently in an ongoing mental health recovery process and emphasized that placing him on IR allows him the time professional care and emotional support he needs before returning to the field.

Head coach Sean McDermott addressed the media with visible sadness when discussing Sanders’ situation:

“Football is family and right now our priority is his health and his heart. Losing someone you love changes everything. The Bills will make sure he has every comfort and support to get through this. No game is more important than his life.”

Sources close to the organization say Sanders has been noticeably quiet withdrawn and struggling emotionally since the loss of his girlfriend, Hannah Price, a student at the University at Buffalo. The two had been together for several years and were often seen together at early season charity events representing the Bills with warmth and optimism.

One Bills teammate spoke honestly:

“He tried to fight through it but the pain was written all over him. Giving him time off is the right call. This is beyond football.”

The Bills are expected to keep Sanders on IR for at least four weeks with no timetable for return. His comeback will depend entirely on progress in his mental and emotional healing process. The organization has confirmed that they are working closely with licensed mental health professionals and Sanders’ family to make sure he receives full support.

This situation is a sobering reminder that even the strongest athletes face battles no one sees. Behind the helmets and highlights there are real people dealing with real pain.

A Bills staff member posted on X:

“Some struggles have nothing to do with the field. Sometimes life hits harder than any tackle.”

Bills Mafia has come together in full support using hashtags like #StayStrongSanders and #BillsFamily while sending thousands of prayers and messages of love.

Tyler Shough’s Shocking Moment: Just One Hour After Leaving Sei Less with His Wife, He Learns a Jets Cornerback Was Shot Outside
New York What was supposed to be a peaceful weekend evening turned into a haunting memory for New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough, after he learned that a shooting occurred just one hour after he and his wife had dinner at Sei Less, a popular upscale restaurant in Midtown Manhattan. During the Saints’ Bye Week, Shough and his wife visited Sei Less, a hotspot frequently visited by athletes and celebrities. Less than an hour after leaving the restaurant, news broke that New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd had been shot outside the very same location. The incident occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday, on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue. According to law enforcement sources, Boyd was shot in the abdomen after a dispute turned violent outside the restaurant. Two gunshots were fired. The gunman reportedly fled the scene in a black BMW X8, and a second silver Mercedes-Benz Maybach was also seen leaving the area shortly after. Photos taken by police also showed a Rhino GX, a luxury armored SUV worth up to $300,000, parked outside Sei Less during the aftermath. #Jets CB Kris Boyd is in critical condition after a shooting in Manhattan, per @nypost. The team is aware of the situation but has no further comment at this point. https://t.co/f9dzcY19Ip — Mike Garafolo (@MikeGarafolo) November 16, 2025 The team later confirmed that Kris Boyd, a 5-foot-11 defensive back who joined the Jets in March 2025, was the victim. Boyd previously played for the Vikings, Cardinals, and Texans, and is known primarily for his work on special teams. His career stats include over 100 tackles and 1 interception. He was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition. Tyler Shough, visibly shaken, gave a brief statement upon hearing the news: "I felt a chill go down my spine. I honestly can’t believe something like that happened right where my wife and I had just been. An hour earlier, we were laughing, enjoying dinner. Now someone’s fighting for their life. I’m praying hard for Kris and his family. I hope he pulls through." Police have made no arrests as of now, and the investigation remains ongoing. Sources say that witnesses at the scene have not been cooperative, making it more difficult to identify the shooter.
